Behind DLH Equine
About me
I’m Denali Hart, the founder of DLH Equine. My work centers on helping horses feel and perform their best through a blend of biomechanics, recovery therapy, targeted nutrition, and practical horsemanship. I work with performance horses, ranch horses, and the partners who carry us through everyday life, each with their own needs, history, and goals.
Nutrition is a core pillar of my approach. I’ve seen how correct fueling, metabolic balance, and thoughtful supplementation can change a horse’s entire body, their topline, comfort, recovery, attitude, and longevity. It’s not an add‑on in my programs; it’s a foundation. Horses can’t recover, build muscle, or stay sound without the right nutrition behind them.
I take a straightforward, evidence‑based approach to recovery and conditioning. Every horse is evaluated as an individual, with attention to conformation, movement, workload, and overall health. My goal is simple: support the horse in front of me so they can move, feel, and work at their highest potential.
My Approach
I believe in clear communication, consistency, and meeting horses where they are. Whether I’m using Class IV laser, PEMF, thermography, or hands‑on recovery work, the focus is always on long‑term soundness and functional improvement, not quick fixes.
Nutrition is woven into every plan, because recovery and performance don’t happen in isolation. Feed, workload, conformation, and therapy all interact. I work closely with owners to build programs that make sense for each horse’s lifestyle, job, and physical needs.
Why Nutrition Matters to Me
I’ve seen nutrition change horses that nothing else could touch, chronic soreness, topline loss, inconsistent performance, metabolic issues, and horses who simply weren’t thriving. My late mare Callie, who had PSSM1, is a huge part of why I take nutrition so seriously. She taught me how much the right program can transform a horse’s comfort and ability to work.
That experience shaped my entire approach:
Feed the horse correctly, and everything else becomes possible.
